a sad day in sports history is approaching, perhaps even before the end of this regular season of the nhl. this will be when alex ovechkin passes the great wayne gretzky for the all-time goal scoring lead. i fail to understand why so many people in sports media are cheering for this guy to succeed, like he’s some kind of hero. this is a man who considers vladimir putin his friend, has never said a bad word about him or criticized him about his invasion of ukraine, to my knowledge. it’s too bad that nhl leadership did not have the integrity similar to the iihf, whereby they suspended all russian players from all competitions. perhaps that would have made a strong statement to putin if his pal couldn’t play anymore.

gretzky knows the score
re “great one a great canadian who deserves our respect” (bobby orr, feb. 23): bobby orr is fully justified in coming to wayne gretzky’s defence. gretzky always knew where the puck would be ahead of all other players on the ice. that’s what made him such a great hockey player — his hockey iq. as unpopular as he may be now for having supported trump, and attending his inauguration, he will prove to have just as much political sense as he once had hockey sense. gretzky’s strong support for stephen harper a decade ago is now vindicated on a daily basis as we cringe under foibles justin trudeau and his feckless liberal government. we now know gretzky was right about harper. he will be proven to have been right again.

(it is ridiculous what some are attempting to do to gretzky simply over a friendship)
cancel woke mob
instead of cancelling gretzky and trump, just cancel the woke mob of liberal supporters forever.
