a slide has shut down a section of the stanley park seawall on sunday.
vancouver’s board of parks and recreation said the seawall was closed from third beach to prospect point after heavy rainfall caused a slide along the popular walking and cycling path.
the small slide sent trees, soil and debris onto the path.
engineers and park staffers are at the site assessing slope stability and cleaning up, said the park board in a post on x sunday evening.
the park board said people should avoid the area and obey signage.
the same stretch of seawall had just reopened in late november after it was closed for 11 days to allow crews to do annual maintenance work to stabilize the slopes.
