man, 50, charged for four random assaults in 30 minutes in vancouver

over the course of half an hour on saturday, a person was involved in four alleged unprovoked attacks in downtown vancouver.
police say a 50-year-old man is facing two counts of assault and two more of assault with a weapon in relation to the crime spree.
at about 2:40 p.m., a person went into a business at homer and dunsmuir street and began demanding money from workers and customers, police allege. police say he threw an object that hit two employees, causing minor injuries.
immediately after, investigators say the same man walked up to a man on beatty street and, when he was rebuffed, punched the man in the face before taking off.
about 10 minutes later, another victim was punched in the face without warning.
“these incidents are particularly concerning because they appear to have been completely unprovoked, and none of the victims had any prior interaction with the suspect,” said vpd const. megan lui.
“through extensive video canvassing and proactive patrols in the area, officers were able to identify, locate and arrest a suspect.”
investigators believe there might be other victims, and are encouraging anyone who was affected or witnessed an attack to call vancouver police.
on top of the four assault charges, marc ledoux faces one count of uttering threats and one of mischief. he is in custody until a bail hearing.
