lasalle police charged two windsor men with stunt driving following two separate recent incidents.
a lasalle patrol sergeant stopped a vehicle on front road saturday at 9 p.m., after clocking it at more than twice the speed limit.
police allege the 26-year-old driver was travelling at 110 kilometres per hour in a 50 km/h zone. the driver now faces a stunt driving charge.
early tuesday morning a lasalle officer allegedly observed a vehicle performing multiple “burnouts” — where a driver presses both the brake and the gas pedals, spinning the vehicle’s wheels and causing the tires to heat up and smoke from the friction — on highway 3 at sandwich west parkway.
the 25-year-old driver was charged with stunt driving.
both drivers received a suspension of their drivers’ licence for a 30-day period, while their vehicles were impounded for 14 days.
