police are looking for a suspect in a pair of convenience store robberies in tecumseh. 
officers with the ontario provincial police essex county major crime unit were called to a store in the 12000 block of tecumseh road on sunday, may 4, at approximately 11:38 p.m., after a man armed with a knife demanded cash and cigarettes. 
the suspect, wearing a black mask that fully covered his face, fled the store with an unknown quantity of cash and five packages of cigarettes. 
earlier on sunday, at around 2 a.m., a man with a knife, also wearing a black mask that fully covered his face, entered a store in the 3000 block of manning road. that suspect also demanded cash and cigarettes.  
there were no physical injuries in either incident.

the suspect in the first robbery is described as a six-foot-tall white male, approximately 200 pounds, who was wearing a black hoodie, grey vest, blue jeans with embroidered rear pockets and black sneaker with white soles. 
the suspect in the second robbery is described as a white male wearing a black hoodie, blue jeans with embroidered rear pockets and black sneakers with white soles. 
police continue to investigate and said there is not believed to be a threat to public safety.
