update: driver arrested after pedestrian hit and killed in abbotsford

police say alcohol was a factor in a fatal collision in abbotsford friday afternoon.
a male pedestrian was taken to hospital after the crash involving an suv at the intersection of simon avenue and emerson street at around 3:30 p.m.
the driver initially drove away, but returned a short time later. she was arrested at the scene.
police say alcohol played a role in the collision.
abbotsford police later confirmed the seriously injured pedestrian had died of his injuries.
“the driver who was arrested yesterday has since been released pending the completion of the full investigation, which is expected to take several months,” said sgt. paul walker in an update over the weekend.
