u.s. president donald trump’s emotions were all over the place, first accusing msnbc of the “unpardonable sin” it has done to the country … but then shifting to celebration mode of the news of the axing of its star host, joy reid.
trump took to truth social to rant about reid but also comcast in general, claiming the media giant that owns msnbc should “pay vast sums of money for the damage they’ve done” to the united states, due to the news network’s content.
aside from reid, the president also took aim at comcast head brian thompson, calling him “chairman of ‘concast’” and a “lowlife.”
trump was apparently triggered by the news that msnbc — or in the president’s words, “msdnc” — is removing reid and alex wagner from its primetime lineup.
“lowlife chairman of ‘concast,’ brian roberts, the owner of ratings challenge nbc and msdnc, has finally gotten the nerve up to fire one of the least talented people in television, the mentally obnoxious racist, joy reid,” trump wrote.
“based on her ratings, which were virtually non-existent, she should have been ‘canned’ long ago, along with everyone else who works there,” he continued.
trump then took aim at wagner and the network’s other major star, rachel maddow.

“alex wagner, the sub on the seriously failing rachel maddow show,” he sneered.

“rachel rarely shows up because she knows there’s nobody watching, and she also knows that she’s got less television persona than virtually anyone on television except, perhaps, joy reid,” trump continued.
“then there’s, of course, the low iq con man, al sharpton, who has, perhaps, the lowest tv ratings in the history of television. what is he doing to brian roberts to stay on the air?”
trump then claimed: “this whole corrupt operation is nothing more than an illegal arm of the democrat party. they should be forced to pay vast sums of money for the damage they’ve done to our country. fake news is an unpardonable sin!”
it is unclear who or what trump is suggesting comcast be forced to pay.
video of reid breaking down while addressing being fired from msnbc has since gone viral.
“my show had value, and what i was doing had value,” she says while apologizing between sobs before listing why she “went hard on many issues,” from black lives matters issues to what is happening in gaza to what trump is doing “that is subversive to the constitution.”
she added: “i’m not sorry, i’m just proud of my show.”

reid has been with msnbc since 2011.
the final episode of the reidout airs this week.
it will be replaced by a new panel show featuring co-hosts alicia menendez, michael stelle and symone sanders townsend, the new york times reported.
