i have been working as a print reporter for nearly two decades, but i started my career in broadcast journalism, working for the radio arm of the canadian press called broadcast news in vancouver. still a green reporter, i was sent off to cover the 2003 firestorm in kelowna. i loved my job at cp but i had itchy travel feet. so, i ventured off to china and then to spain before heading back to vancouver.
before i had even unpacked my suitcase, i accepted a job on the breaking news desk at canwest news service in ottawa. there, i began writing environmental features, many concerning plastic pollution and the health hazards we face because of climate change.
i have spent most of my years at the vancouver sun on a breaking news team but now i am the sun's health reporter.
i studied history at ubc and journalism at bcit.
